Pacific International’s Manufacturing, Engineering and Production team, led by Adam Nuzie, has placed an Operational Excellence Manager at a $3 billion nutritional manufacturer. The client sought to grow out their Continuous Improvement program within their Operations.
The client needed a professional with a background in the food and pharmaceutical industries, with an awareness of risk and compliance in the Food and Supplements area. This individual needs to have a hands-on approach, and be able to liaise with multiple stakeholders across the business.
As the first iteration of the client’s Continuous Improvement program, initially within Operations, the OPEX manager would need to quickly be able to command the confidence of senior stakeholders. Strong business acumen was needed as the client aimed to expand the program in line with their ambitious growth plans.
Pacific headhunted a young, highly motivated, and high-energy individual to fill the role. A Master Black-Belt with experience in Process Management, they represented the ideal mix of hard experience and soft skills that would be able to onboard new talent, manage their team and command the confidence of the major stakeholders.
On the back of this successful placement, Pacific are now undertaking to deliver further management level roles for the client.
Speaking of the continuing need for effective leadership in new Continuous Improvement programs, Pacific’s Aimee Aurol said: ‘one of the challenges with a new OPEX/CI program is finding the right leadership. While hard skills and demonstrable experience are important, the ability to inspire others, maintain high energy and manage a variety of stakeholders is probably more so. Bringing these people to where they’re needed is one of the most rewarding parts of the job, especially with the high impact these leaders have on the business.’
