Pacific International has completed the search for a Plant Manager with a major manufacturer in the FMCG space. The client required new leadership to enhance its operations at multiple sites covering over 500 employees, and build a successful team that would set a high standard for others to follow.
With the client looking to the future, they sought a leader who could adopt a hands-on approach to management and ensure that they retained cohesion by bringing in new processes, methods, and technology. The client needed to be certain that every area of the business was overseen in a sustainable, forward-thinking manner that aligned with the company’s history and working culture, especially at a time when the MD was taking a step back after 20+ years.
Pacific targeted their search for qualified candidates who had a proven track-record in managing multi-site plants, a history of working with Lean methodologies and the ability to manage complex product lines within the FMCG/Food production sector.
Our internal research team mapped the European market and focused heavily on family-owned firms with similar cultural values. Pacific identified qualified candidates looking to develop their careers and able to provide the leadership that the client wanted. Our team placed an individual with a strong background in Operations and Plant Management that would successfully drive the business forward.
Umair Safdar, Pacific’s Regional Director – EMEA, said of the project: ‘Mapping the German Mittelstand FMCG market was key – the culture within a family-run business is unique and must be valued with due respect by any incoming employee. Utilizing our Germanic language skills and our history of working with similar companies in this region means that our team understands the importance of culture and values at these businesses.’
