Pacific International’s Manufacturing, Engineering and Production team in the Americas has recently finished delivering a Planning & Procurement Manager at an international confectionary manufacturer based on the East Coast. The client was experiencing strong growth since launching their US arm, and wanted to consolidate their operation by providing local planning and supply chain talent that could operate more effectively than had been the case with a centralised global lead across multiple territories.
The initial requirement sought both strong experience in managing the supply chain end-to-end, forecasting and excellent stakeholder management skills. In addition the organisation’s US operation consisted of remote workers who would not be based in a physical office, which required finding a self-starting individual who was comfortable working remotely and able to manage their time effectively. The requirement also called for someone who would be comfortable working in a smaller organisation but with experience influencing decision-making at a high level.
Working with the Global VP of Supply Chain and Operations, Pacific’s Americas manufacturing team’s extensive experience working with Manufacturers on the East Coast meant that they were quickly able to source the perfect candidate.
The team identified an individual with a strong background in planning, including purchasing, deliveries and negotiating with co-manufacturers. In addition they had managed supply chains with a similar scope to that of the client and were comfortable with being able to work remotely, and were therefore an ideal hire for the organisation. The candidate was further interested by the potential for quick career development as the client achieved their growth targets and continued to expand their operations.
Pacific continues to work with the client to assist their growth trajectory. To learn more how Pacific can aid organisations and individuals within the Manufacturing sector, contact Adam Nuzie, our Regional Director in the Americas, or Umair Safdar, our Regional Director in EMEA.
