Job Description

Our client is the world leader in the manufacturing and packaging industry with approx. $10bn USD turnover and over 20,000 employees worldwide across 150+ countries. They are now looking for an experienced EHS manager to be based at one of their core manufacturing plants in the US with a service line of around 700 FTE.

This role will be the lead for Environmental, Health and Safety disciplines at the facility and be a key member of the plant leadership team. The core purpose of this role is to create a world-class EHS culture and boost the overall Health and Safety performance.

Strong people leadership skills are essential for this role as this individual will need to influence across key stakeholders, effectively execute the new strategy and provide mentoring within the EHS team to ensure continuous improvement within this discipline.

The role reports into the Plant Manager and the global EHS leader who is based at the head office.

Background / key skills

  • Minimum 10 years Environmental Health & Safety experience
  • Ideally a strong academic background within engineering (and /or chemistry/ physical sciences), with a specialization in environmental, safety or chemical engineering. 
  • A proven track record of implementing and maintaining behavior based safety cultures
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma EHS implementation at a large manufacturing location
