Our client is a global leader in solar power and energy management and has been a world-renowned name since 1981. The company achieved revenues of over $1bn last year and YOY growth was at 20%.
The North American market is growing exponentially and a target area for growth is the large-scale storage business unit. The business is now looking for a strong leader to develop a sustainable sales pipeline and manage the strategic direction for this division.
The role will be responsible for leading the growth of the large-scale business primarily across North America including US, Canada and Mexico markets but may also be required to provide expertise on major deals in the EMEA and APAC region too. This position is new to the business and it has been created due to the increasing demand for energy storage. The expectations for this individual would be to open new doors for the organization as well as be able to develop existing major accounts – the emphasis would be more on the former and a hunter mindset will be key.
This individual will have a target revenue quota for growing the portfolio in North America but will also be responsible for working with the line manager on broader growth objectives such as new product development, future target industries and investment into new technology to stay ahead of market trends. There is much room for career progression for this person given not only the growth area of this current product but the high exposure of this role in the organization would open many doors internally.
- An engineering degree alongside excellent commercial acumen
- Proven experience in business development especially within a high growth / start-up environment
- Demonstrates an appetite to drive growth of the division and have a hunter mindset
- Professional sales personality alongside strong customer and negotiation skills
- Ideally worked in renewable energy technology
