Multi-Site Plant Manager

Job Description

Our client is a Fortune 500 company (for over 50 years) who are a market leader in the manufacturing and materials industry. We have been working closely with them helping to build out their TPM program as well as the leadership team globally for the last number of years.

 

As a Global Multi-Site Plant Leader, you will be responsible for leading the manufacturing operations, Process Excellence and Technical teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing a new tooling technology and production technology driving material improvements to customer and internal productivity, quality and safety.

The Leader will model their Leadership capabilities for growth and will demonstrate a focus on talent development and upskilling of the team to ensure succession and embody 100% leadership engagement. This role will be responsible for three facilities globally and have a large staff of both direct and indirect reports.

 

The right candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization and MUST come from a TPM manufacturing background.

 

Your main responsibilities:

·         Budget management for facilities in line with the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic plan.

·         Develop and manage manufacturing operations to achieve “Manufacturing Excellence”. This will involve the appropriate application of a wide variety of business improvement tools within their Business System toolkit to maximize synergies and reduce cost through waste reduction, inventory management and improvement of flow.

·         Development and management of the Operations team to ensure that departmental and individual goals, priorities and KPIs are aligned with business and functional objectives (financial and operational).

·         Technical support / COE – able to prioritize and ensure delivery of support services while evaluating and developing global operations talent aligned to a focused agenda.

·         Opportunity identification and validation – work with direct team and global resources to identify technology opportunities to deliver material improvements in tooling operations, customer productivity, quality and cost. Understanding and balancing asset value to cost, and guiding conversations and evaluation to prioritize high shareholder value. Able to refresh framework based on changes to asset values, market dynamics and customer programs

·         Project management – able to develop and drive project plans with speed and effective prioritization

Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred

·         At least 10-15 years of experience in plant leadership roles with P&L responsibility

·         A history of hiring, growing and promoting talent within the organization

·         Formal TPM training is essential and a strong background in Continuous Improvement, and Lean manufacturing is also preferred

·         Experience successfully designing and leading culture change within an organization
