Our client is a global leader in solar power and energy management and has been a world-renowned name since 1981. The company achieved revenues of over $1bn last year and YOY growth was at 20%.
The North American market is growing exponentially, and they are looking for a strong commercial and strategic professional to lead the new strategic initiatives division.
The role would be working across the North American business within all product areas and in commercial and industrial, residential and utilities sectors. It is a new position for the company following the rapid expansion of the firm they now need to focus on a strategic outlook rather than purely tactical short-term growth plans to maintain a sustainable growth pattern for the group.
The exposure and visibility to North America and the global business is an exciting one. You would be responsible for leading the new strategic initiatives division where the priorities can range from new product development, go-to-market strategy, customer relations, brand building to mapping new markets with the ultimate goal of driving revenue and finding new opportunities in the market. Examples of projects would be launching new products to market or building out a presence within Community Solar (big trend!).
There is much room for career progression given not only the growth area of this new division but the high exposure of this role in the organization would open many doors internally.
- An engineering degree and technical aptitude
- Proven experience in technical sales, strategic decision making and business development
- Demonstrates an appetite to drive revenue and has a commercial outlook on strategy
- Someone who thinks creatively and outside of the box, will bring fresh ideas
- Ideally worked in renewable energy technology
